Singer Nego do Borel stated on his social networks that he was the victim of an attempted robbery last Sunday night (19). According to him, the case occurred near Varnhagen square, in Tijuca.
According to the singer, he was in a car when he noticed the robbers approaching on a motorcycle. At that moment, the criminals allegedly pointed a gun at the vehicle and Nego do Borel was forced to roll down the windows.
“I think he was going to take my Rolex. He had already taken my cell phone, I believe he was going to take my car too. But then he saw it was me”, said Nego do Borel, who reported that the criminals returned their items as soon as they realized that the victim was the singer. The criminals then left the place without taking anything.
“I don’t know if he thought: ‘if I steal Nego do Borel it will cause a bigger mess’. I don’t know if he liked me, he was my fan” he said.
When contacted, the Military Police reported that they were not called for any incident in the region during Sunday night. The Civil Police were unable to say whether there was a record of this attempted robbery.
