Nazi fashion house: When the Jews were forced to make luxurious clothing of Holocaust victims

At first glance, the photos look like a typical 1950s factory scene: women sitting on tables work hard making clothes. But the terrified expressions of their faces betray the reality that they are unintentional participants in one of the least known atrocities of World War II. As a new report highlights, in the death and illness of Lodz’s ghetto in occupied Poland, Jewish men, women and children were forced to make luxury clothes and items for the Nazi regime and the citizens of the Third Reich. As the Daily Mail reports, these luxury species included dresses, lingerie, hats, footwear and tie made of materials removed by Jews who had been murdered at the nearby Kulmhof Am Nehr extermination camp, just 30 miles away.
