A Brazilian crew member of a merchant ship was rescued by helicopter by the Brazilian Navy this Saturday (23). The Force was activated on Wednesday morning (20).
According to the Navy, the merchant ship Atlantic Zonda, where the Brazilian woman was, had the Liberian flag and was approximately 1200 km off the coast of Brazil.

The Navy air medical helicopter was called in and carried out the operation. The aircraft is scheduled to land on national territory at 2am on Sunday (24), at the Naval Air Force Command, in São Pedro D’Aldeia, in Rio de Janeiro.
Images taken by the Navy show the moment the Brazilian woman is removed on a stretcher and placed in the helicopter.
The Frigate Independência, which was docked in Niterói, was also moved to provide assistance. The rescued Brazilian woman received the necessary care and is under observation, being monitored by the ship’s medical team until arrival on land.
