His widow Alexei Navalny, Yulia Navalnaya spoke to the European Parliament about the situation of political prisoners in Russia. After the death of her husband, who was a staunch critic of the Kremlin, she died on February 16 in prison. Navalny is urging Western leaders to push for justice for her husband's death while he has vowed to continue his work and his struggle for a “free Russia”.
You can't hurt Putin with one more resolution or a series of other sanctions that are no different from the previous ones. You can't defeat him by thinking that he is a man of principle who has morals and rules, Navalnaya said from the podium. Alexey inspired people despite the restrictions put on him by Putin during his lifetime, Navalnaya said. “When he wasn't allowed to go on TV, he turned to YouTube. When he was denied a vote, he came up with a strategy to take seats from Putin's party,” said Yulia Navalnaya. “Even in Putin's gulag, Alexei managed to pass ideas on actions that would make the Kremlin panic”Navalny's widow added.

Navalnaya also told the European Parliament that they have to fight “this criminal gang” and that “tens of millions of Russians” are against Putin and should not be prosecuted.
“My husband will never see how a beautiful Russia of the future will look like. But we must see it. And I will do my best to make his dream come true.”

Yulia Navalnaya added that Putin must answer for what he did to Russia, Ukraine and her husband. “Putin must answer for what he did to my country. Putin must answer for what he did in a neighboring, peaceful country. And Putin must answer for everything he did to Alexei,” he said.
