NATO commander: Russia does not have sufficient troops for a major attack on Ukraine

Moscow does not have sufficient troops and munitions to launch a major new offensive in Ukraine, a top NATO official said today, as Moscow is forced to seek more supplies of military hardware than it has secured so far. The official, who spoke to reporters on condition of anonymity, said Russian President Vladimir Putin had been waging a campaign in Europe – involving assassination, sabotage and arson attacks – aimed at undermining public support for Ukraine. Big losses for Russia “We find today that the Russian losses remain very high. Russia is trying to gain ground. We see that the Ukrainian defense is improving significantly,” said the NATO official, who estimated that Russia can sustain its war economy for another 3-4 years.
