The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky he stated, in an interview published in the Washington Post newspaper, that learned from press reports – not from Washington – that there had been a leak of US classified documents which mainly concerned him Ukraine war with the Russia.
“I was not briefed by the White House or the Pentagon in advance,” Mr. Zelensky emphasized to the American newspaper. “We didn’t have that information, I wasn’t aware,” he added.
Asked about this by the CNN television network, Wing Commander Pat Ryder, the spokesman for the Pentagon, limited himself to saying yesterday that “he is not in a position to say whether this is true or not”reaffirming at the same time that Washington supports Kiev in the conflict.

The US classified documents, which came to light in early April after being leaked online, they reveal uncomfortable details about how Washington sees the war unfoldingshow – among other things – that the US was particularly concerned at the end of February about the situation in which the Ukrainian air defense has fallen.
A young American soldier was arrested for leaking these documents and was prosecuted on April 14. “For us, anything that informs our enemy in advance is, in one way or another, a disadvantage”, said Mr. Zelensky. The episode “doesn’t benefit the reputation of the White House, it doesn’t benefit the reputation of the US,” Mr Zelensky said, comparing press coverage of the leaks to a “television soap opera”.
