N. Panagiotopoulos: The Air Force has been dramatically strengthened in recent years – The effort continues

The Air Force has strengthened dramatically in recent years but of course the effort continues. And in this effort we have next to us the administration of the Tactical Aviation Headquarters in a collective effort with tangible results. This was emphasized by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, who attended today, Friday, February 4, the handover ceremony of the Tactical Aviation Headquarters (ATA), which took place at the Larissa air base, during which the Chief of General Staff, Rear Admiral his duties to Vice Admiral Georgios Fasoulas.

Referring to the ATA, the minister stressed that “this is the” spearhead “of the Air Force at the command level and of course what I have to say is that the fight for an even more combative Air Force continues. There is no point of satisfaction. There is no saturation point”.

He wished “good term, good strength, good success to the new commander” while referring to the chief of the General Staff of the Air Force, Rear Admiral Th. Bourolias, he added: “Good strength, good term”.

“We are proud and confident that the Air Force is in good hands,” concluded the Minister of National Defense.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, Antonios Oikonomou, the Commander of the 1st Army, Lieutenant General Petros Demestihas, the Commander of the Fleet, Admiral Panagiotikos and non-commissioned officers, honorary leaders of GEA and ATA, as well as delegations of retired associations.

Also present were MPs Maximos Harakopoulos, Christos Kellas, Stergiani Biziou, the governor of Thessaly Konstantinos Agorastos, the Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos Ignatios as well as representatives of local government and institutions.
