N. Iliopoulos on surveillance: ‘Politico confirms cover-up’

“Today’s revelation by Politico confirms that Mr. Mitsotakis’ only goal, from the very beginning, was to cover up the surveillance scandal”, emphasizes Nasos Iliopoulos, adding that “no matter how much the prime minister tries to cover up the scandal, everything will be revealed”.

It mentions in particular that “when the Commission on July 29th requested in a letter an explanation about the illegal Predator surveillance software, the government, on August 2nd, responded asking them not to get involved, citing “national security reasons” and discredited the revelations of the Media”. “When it was assumed that Mr. Mitsotakis knew nothing”, comments the press representative of SYRIZA PS, adding that “the sequel is known”, “three days later, Dimitriadis and Kontoleon were forced to resign, even if Mr. Mitsotakis who was caught “with bed bugs on his back”.

Mr. Iliopoulos states that “every day that passes Mitsotakis’ actions will reveal even more deeply his guilt”. He notes that “no matter how much he tries to cover up the scandal, everything will be revealed: and the other political figures who were monitored by his sub-state, as the government representative could not deny, but also the resalto in the secret funds of ministries through secret contracts, which will be the next chapter of revelations”.
