The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, received today, through the United Nations, the proposals submitted by the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, on July 1st and 8th.
As stated in a written statement by the government representative, Marios Pelekanos, Mr. Anastasiadis notes with regret that the proposals constitute a new attempt to establish the unacceptable narrative for a solution based on two independent states.
Despite this, Mr. Pelekanos notes, the President of the Republic would be ready to discuss all the proposals, both those proposed by him and those submitted by the Turkish Cypriot leader, provided that the dialogue would take place on the basis of agreed solution framework, as defined in United Nations resolutions and Security Council resolutions.
