Mysten Labs: We are not planning a Sui Network airdrop

The Sui Network protocol does not and never intended to airdrop the token. This was stated by co-founder and product director of Mysten Labs Adeni Abiodun.

Twitter user rektfencer speculated that the SUI giveaway could be “the biggest in the history of cryptocurrencies.” However, Abiodun asked “to stop spreading nonsense”.

The Mysten Labs team, which is working on the platform, repeatedly noted back in 2021 that they were not going to distribute coins.

However, some interested parties do not want to believe the developers to the last and are waiting for distribution.

“Did he say the airdrop was confirmed? No, are you sure that there will never be a distribution? ”, The user writes.

In December 2022, the Sui Foundation revealed the details of the distribution of native tokens after the launch of the mainnet. More than 50% of the emission will be directed to the development of the project.

In November, the Sui team launched the first Wave 1 testnet. In January 2023, Mysten Labs implemented the second iteration of the debug blockchain to test the mechanisms underlying the tokenomics.

At the end of March, the Mysten Labs team launched the “permanent testnet” Sui Network, which will continue to work after the release of the main network. The launch of the mainnet is scheduled for the second quarter of this year.
