The Baltimore Fire Department is treating a bridge collapse in the city as a multiple-casualty incident as it searches for seven people who have fallen into the Patapsco River. The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, collapsed after a freighter crashed into it this morning. Around 01:30 in the morning (local time, 07:20 Greek time) it became known that a large ship crashed into the 3 km long bridge causing a fire to break out and part of it to collapse. Vehicles have fallen into the water. “I can confirm that at 1:35 a.m. Baltimore City Police were notified of the partial collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and that workers may be in the water,” said city police spokeswoman Nikki Fenoy.
