MSCHF's big red Astro Boy-inspired boots sparked a barrage of memes

It seems that fashion houses are betting on showing a strong tendency to everything extravagant, which many people find simply ridiculous. Now MSCHF intends to sell us boots that are practically identical to those of Astro Boy.

Founded in 2016 by Gabriel Whaley, the main characteristic of MSCHF, the American art collective based in Brooklyn, New York, United States, is to bet on innovative designs that, regularly, turn out to be controversial.

This time his new proposal are the Astro Boy boots, which the brand has named “The Big Red Boots” (The big red boots). Of course, the most extravagant thing will be its price, since they will cost around 350 dollars.

The question we have is whether they will really be practical boots, since they seem to be somewhat uncomfortable and even dangerous. Imagine walking up some stairs with such buttons, walking to school or driving to work. Maybe they are just to take the selfies and that’s it.

But, as tastes break genres, surely there will be people who do not mind avoiding any inconvenience in order to be fashionable with their exclusive and very expensive boots. By the way, they will go on sale on February 16.
