Defender Eduardo Bauermann, from Santos, is one of the players investigated by the Public Ministry of Goiás in case of manipulation of games last season. The complaint indicates that the player accepted a proposal to receive cards in more than one match.
The information was published by Veja. At least 20 games are being analyzed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and there is still no response from Justice on the complaints made by the MP.
According to the document, Bauermann would have accepted a proposal of R$50,000 to receive a yellow card in the 1-1 draw against Avaí, in Vila Belmiro – which did not happen.
In this way, as he received the payment and did not comply with what was proposed, the defender would have forced an expulsion in the next game, against Botafogo. He was given a red card after the match for complaining.
Bauermann was already the target of search and seizure in the first stage of Operation Maximum Penalty. The tendency is for Santos to manifest itself officially in the next few hours.
