Most of the Brazilian cardinals who vote for the conclave are already in Rome

Four of the seven Brazilian cardinals who are entitled to vote in the conclave are already in Rome on Wednesday (23). They participate in farewell ceremonies of Pope Francis and the Vatican Conclave himself in the coming days.

Manaus Archbishop, Leonardo Steiner, according to Fontes, has not yet reserved the ticket to go to Italy and has not expected to arrive.

The Vatican has not yet officially reported the calendar of honors and the conclave, but the Brazilian cardinals are organized to arrive in time of the Mass of Fine, which should be held over the weekend, marking the end of the funeral.

Next week, the Vatican should hold the General Congregation, a meeting in which the cardinals discuss the direction the church should take.

The canonical norm states that the conclave needs to start up to 20 days after the Pope’s wake.
