Most injured after plane overturned in Canada was discharged, says company

Delta Airlines reported on Tuesday that 19 of the 21 passengers taken to local hospitals after an accident involving a plane in Toronto, Canada, on Monday (17), were released.

Canada’s Transport Security Council (TSB) investigates because Delta Airlines’ subsidiary CRJ900, operated by Pearson Airport in Toronto.

At least 21 people, including a child, were injured, Delta Airlines said in a statement. Three people are in critical condition, but none of the injuries are considered life -threatening, said the Peel paramedic service.

All 80 people on board were rescued, according to a preliminary statement of the Federal Aviation Administration. Delta Airlines said there were 76 passengers and four crew on the flight.

A medical helicopter was in the area and offered to help after the plane crashed, according to the audio of air traffic control. Air traffic control was also heard releasing the plane to land and giving the crew information about the climate. The helicopter pilot at one point says, “The aircraft is upside down and burning.”

The National Council of Security in American Transportation is leading a team of researchers in the US to assist the Canada Transport Security Council.
