Morgan and Fedez: after X Factor the clash continues (and risks ending up in court)

Now that I’m no longer behind the counter X Factor Together, Morgan and Fedez continue to say they are right using the most disparate channels: Morgan the Whatsapp chat that he shares with a good part of Italian music journalists and Fedez the television when the latter, as in the case of The news spreads, comes looking for him. The first disagreements between the two, to be honest, were born in 2014, when Fedez arrives at X Factor and Morgan begins to show a certain intolerance towards him because it was clear to everyone that Fedez was X Factor it worked perfectly. After several bickerings – including a joke about San Patrignano that the rapper lets slip live – the two never met again, although Fedez in interviews has always thanked Morgan for having taught him between the lines how to be on television. We therefore arrive at 2023, with the two finding themselves sharing the experience again on the Sky talent show even if, according to him, Fedez was not entirely convinced that recalling Morgan was a good idea. “I was told Morgan would be one of the judges in April. I didn’t want him at that table. For a series of reasons ranging from the pending charges that you have, which are very serious, to the unprofessional behavior that he has shown over the years”, Fedez tells the microphones of The news spreads, but let’s move on.

Things, as we know, start creaking even before that X Factor start on Sky given that, a few days before the broadcast of the first episode of the Auditions, Morgan is immortalized on smartphones making homophobic accusations against a spectator during one of his concerts. Sky decides to forgive him and readmit him to the team on the condition that he donates part of his salary to associations that fight against homophobia every day. «But Sky made the decision and made us look a bit like we were conniving. But no one asked us if we agreed…”, insists Fedez, going on to talk about what happened on 20 November, when Sky and Fremantle Italy announced the decision to remove Morgan from X Factor for his conduct. «Morgan was not sent away for the “fuck” to Ambra, the depression, the argument with Dargen or the joke about Ivan Graziani. Sky was forced to kick him out for some very serious behavior he showed towards other people outside of the live broadcast, but caught on camera.” That means? Fedez doesn’t say more.

«And also for the aggressive and violent attitudes that he had in past editions towards some Sky workers. He was sent away when I was 23 for this.” A heavy accusation, as heavy as that of Morgan who, to journalists, explained that he had been joined by Fedez in the dressing room, with the latter allegedly shouting at him, telling the production that he would have to choose between him and the other. «The allegations are so serious that I have already called Marco: if he doesn’t deny it, the only way for the truth to emerge is in a courtroom. I didn’t lay a finger on Morgan and I didn’t even throw a punch at his dressing room. The truth is the opposite.” On the purge, however, Fedez says: «Here too, Sky did not share the statement with us…but the shovel hit our faces. To date it seems that Licio Gelli Fedez and P2 Dargen, Ambra and Michielin have decided to send him away.” Ultimately, according to Fedez, Morgan was sent away not for what was broadcast on Sky, but «for things that were said off-camera but not off-camera, very, very serious and violent, which do not concern me».
