Thousands of faithful are already in St. Peter’s Square hours before Pope Francis’ present body mass on Saturday morning (26).
People could be seen running as soon as the gates of the square opened, with many others waiting in line to pass.
More than 200,000 people are expected for the ceremony on the vast square in front of the São Pedro Basilica.
To date, about 50 heads of state have been confirmed, including US President Donald Trump and 10 reigning monarchs.
Leaders from Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Brazil, Institutions of the European Union and Argentina, Francisco’s home country, also confirmed presence.
