More than 20 former Democratic lawmakers ask Biden to allow ‘open’ convention

More than twenty former Democratic congressmen called on Friday, in an open letter, to US President Joe Biden to allow an “open” congress of the faction next month, or otherwise to allow the submission of other presidential nominations. “President Biden would best serve the nation he loves if he would release the delegates who have agreed to give him the nod to run for a second term. If he decided to do so, that would mean we would have an open conference in August.
