The board Mona Lisa one of the main works on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris, was attacked by a visitor on Sunday (29).
The man threw what appeared to be a pie at the painting and the scene was captured by the countless people who normally visit the room where Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece is located.

According to the Spanish newspaper “El País”, the security guards expelled the visitor immediately. The identity of the perpetrator or the reason for the attack is not yet known.
The work, which is protected by a glass structure, did not suffer any damage.

The attacker, according to testimonies on social media, had his face painted white and wore a wig and cap. He would have managed to approach the painting because he arrived in a wheelchair and can stay between the cord and the work, a space reserved for the disabled.
