Ministry of Education extends ProUni registration until this Friday

O Ministry of Education extended enrollment for the University for All Program (ProUni ) from the second semester to this Friday (5). The deadline would end this Wednesday (4).

This Friday will also be the deadline for the candidate to change the course options initially chosen.

The extension comes after reports of system instability.

More than 190,000 scholarships will be offered to students who meet the program’s prerequisites.

The MEC clarifies that Brazilian candidates without a higher education degree can participate in the process. It is also necessary to have completed the 2021 and/or 2020 editions of the National High School Exam (And either). Those who took the test as coach will not be able to apply.

ProUni will only consider the edition with the best grade point average. For this, it is necessary to reach at least 450 points on average and not have zeroed the essay.

In addition, to apply for the full scholarship, the candidate must prove gross monthly family income, per person, of up to one and a half minimum wage; and for the partial scholarship, of 50%, of up to three minimum wages per family member.

Classification

This edition of ProUni will bring some innovations. Among them, entries that will be categorized as broad competition or affirmative action. The order of priority varies by application category.

In addition, instead of disclosing the course cut-off mark, the MEC will inform the partial classification of each candidate.

“The system will rank, during the registration period, the positions of each student in relation to their direct competitors, that is, those candidates of the same profile, who selected the same options at the time of registration, considering the prioritization of the ranking order ”, explains the folder.
