Ministry of Economy highlights sustainable energy in Brazil at COP27

The Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Marcelo Guaranys, highlighted the role of Brazil in the production of sustainable energy in the world.

The speech was made this Tuesday (8), in participation in the panel on capital markets and environmental assets, of the Ministry of the Environment, at COP 27.

Marcelo Guaranys replaced the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, who was initially scheduled to participate in the event.

During his participation, Guaranys highlighted the importance of the partnership between the Ministries of Economy and the Environment, mainly in the area of ​​the carbon capture bond market.

“We need to give to all those who protect, who have a sustainability policy, the property right, so that they can take these protection programs and even market to those who need to make environmental compensation, they can use these titles. We give those who protect an incentive to protect themselves even more, improving our compensations,” said Guaranys.

The executive secretary concluded his participation by pointing out the importance of environmental investments for the social development of Brazil.

According to him, the economic and environmental guidelines are fully compatible, and they promote the ESG policy in these guidelines in the federal government.
