Minister foresees return of operations at Porto Alegre Airport for Monday (6)

The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, indicated during a meeting of the government situation room that monitors the rains in Rio Grande do Sul that Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho International Airport should resume operations on Monday (6) .

The airport's landing and takeoff operations, managed by the concessionaire Fraport Brasil, have been paralyzed since Friday (3) . Costa Filho said he was in constant contact with the company.

In this Saturday's virtual meeting (4), the minister indicated that of the twelve airports in Rio Grande do Sul, eleven are in operation, amid the rains that are ravaging the state.

Renan Filho, from Transport, who also participated in the meeting, said that the ministry is working together with the Navy to remove the two trailer vessels that collided with the Guaíba Bridge in the next few hours.

The third situation room meeting lasted around two hours and was attended by 14 government ministers.

One of the main results of the meeting was the definition that donations to Rio Grande do Sul must be centralized by the states together with their fire departments. After screening, donations will be sent to air bases.
