Military Police prevent “Rolezinho” in the Rio de Janeiro region

The State Secretariat of Military Police, in joint action with the Municipal Secretariat of Public Order and the Municipal Guard, prevented the realization of a “roller” in the Rio de Janeiro Bus Station region, in the city center. The operation took place on Thursday night (17) and had a strong police presence.

The mobilization took place after monitoring through social networks of biker groups that planned to meet near the Camarista Méier and Lins de Vasconcelos communities. Based on the information collected by the corporation’s intelligence sectors, the PM acted preventively.

Teams of the 3rd BPM (Méier), Pacifying Police Coordination (CPP), Special Rounds Battalion and Multitreous Control (Recomal) and the Tactical Bottalion of Motorcyclists (BPT) were called to contain the displacement of motorcyclists and avoid unauthorized event.

Despite the organizers’ attempt to change the meeting point for the outskirts of the Novo Rio bus station, the exchange of messages on social networks was intercepted, allowing the teams of the Tactical motorcycle group to perform the approaches already upon arrival at Avenida Rodrigues Alves.

In all, more than 40 approaches were made with the support of trailers and teams from the Municipal Guard and the Secretariat of Public Order. As a result of the operation, 15 fines were applied, 8 motorcycles were removed to the warehouse, a man was arrested and a motorcycle with theft was recovered.
