A military police officer was removed from duty after being accused of rape, allegedly committed against a minor in the city of Várzea Paulista, in São Paulo. The case was registered last Sunday (21).
According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the police officer, whose rank was not revealed, would be an officer of the corporation – a position reserved for direct command of the personnel who work in overt policing.
The ministry also reported that both the victim and the police officer involved have already been interviewed. The case is investigated through a Military Police Inquiry (IPM) and by the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM) of Várzea Paulista.
In a note, the São Paulo Public Security Secretary (SSP-SP) informed that “expert examinations were requested, which are in the process of being prepared and will be analyzed as soon as they are completed.”
