Military police kill eight people, including six family members, in Paraná, says PM

A military policeman killed eight people, six of whom were family members, and took his own life on Thursday night (14) in Paraná. The crime took place in the cities of Toledo and Céu Azul, in the west of the state.

According to the Military Police (PM), among the victims are the agent’s wife, three children, mother and brother, in addition to two people who were on the street.

In a note, the PM stated that the agent who provided services in the 19th Battalion in Toledo had no history that could indicate psychological problems and acted as a driver for the unit’s policing coordinator.

In an interview with the press, the general commander of the Military Police, Colonel Hudson Leôncio Teixeira, stated that the motive for the crime may be related to the end of the relationship between the agent and his wife.

“The military police investigation is being opened to investigate the fact. All psychological support is being given to the family in the face of this situation”, said Teixeira.
