The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, arrived late this Tuesday morning (6), in Tel Aviv, on his first international trip since being inaugurated last December.
Welcomed by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, the Argentine leader reiterated his intention to transfer Argentina's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“For me it is a pleasure and an honor to be here, I am fulfilling my promise that my first visit as president is to Israel,” said Milei upon getting off the plane.
“Obviously my plan is to move the embassy to West Jerusalem. So for me it is a great pleasure to be here, thank you”, said Milei
Shortly after the release of the video of the Argentinian's arrival in Tel Aviv, the Israeli government celebrated Milei's statement, treating the transfer of the embassy as certain.
“Thank you Mr. President of Argentina Javier Milei for your announcement of the transfer of the Argentine Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the capital”, wrote Minister Katz, on Twitter, which ended with the Argentine’s motto: “Viva La Libertad Carajo!”.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that the prime minister “warmly welcomes” the arrival of Milei, “who announced the move of the Argentine Embassy to Jerusalem”.
“The Prime Minister spoke about this with President Milei after his election, and celebrates the fact that the President kept his promise. Prime Minister Netanyahu will meet with President Milei tomorrow and will discuss with him the continued strengthening of bilateral relations”, concluded the note.

Arrival in Israel, where he will meet with authorities, begins Javier Milei's first international trip as president of Argentina.
He must also visit Italy, where he will meet with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the Vatican, where he will meet Pope Francis, as well as other high-ranking politicians.
The Argentine president boarded from Ezeiza airport, in Buenos Aires, accompanied by the secretary general of the Presidency, Karina Milei, by Chancellor Diana Mondino and by the ambassador appointed to Israel, Axel Wahnish, also a rabbi and personal spiritual guide to Javier Milei.
In Israel, in addition to official commitments, Milei must also visit the Western Wall and the Holocaust Museum.
In addition to Netanyahu, he is expected to meet with President Isaac Herzog and local businesspeople.
