THE Israeli army announced that it had launched airstrikes on Gaza Strip today (27/1), in retaliation for the launch of two rockets by Palestinian enclave, which intercepted the Israeli Iron Dome anti-aircraft system.
The Israeli armed forces “hit the Gaza Strip”they said themselves.
Sources close to security services in the Gaza Strip, the densely populated enclave ruled by the Islamist group Hamas, told AFP that 15 strikes had been carried out, with no injuries reported so far..
Earlier, Israel’s military announced that two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system.
The launches followed his raid on the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, which left at least nine people dead, according to Palestinian imgs. It was one of the deadliest operations by the Israeli army in the West Bank in years. The death toll of Israeli operations among Palestinians, members of armed organizations and civilians, has reached at least 29 dead in January.

The US is calling for de-escalation
US diplomacy called yesterday Thursday (26/1) for a de-escalation after the “anti-terrorist” operation by the Israeli armed forces in Jenin, in the West Bank, which resulted in the killing of at least nine Palestinians, among them civilians, in a press release that announced the spokesman of the US Department of State, Ned Price.
“We underline the urgent need for all parties to de-escalate, prevent further loss of civilian life and work together to improve the security situation in the West Bank”states the text released by the State Department.
