Michelle Impossible and Friends: another TV is (finally) possible

Years and years of repeating to us that there is no money, that resources must be invested in safe used cars and in reality shows capable of maintaining a certain share for better or for worse to reassure investors and then Michelle Hunziker arrives and sets up a variety of a rare beauty, of those that once could be seen on Rai and that Mediaset proposes today with taste and freshness, laying the foundations for a great show that in the first episode nearly 3 million viewers with a share of 21.3% and puts in all the right ingredients: dance, music, core-to-core interviews, comic interludes and, above all, lightness. The program is called Michelle Impossible and Friends even if there is nothing “impossible” about it, given that Canale 5 and Hunziker herself have taught us that a variety show in 2023 is not only possible, but also necessary. Although the name of the program is a tribute to her, Michelle Hunziker is not a prima donna hungry for visibility: she knows her limits, she knows well that she works more as a sidekick than as a solo host, and that’s why she loves to surround herself with friends and guests capable of making her shine because it is precisely in interactions with others that the showgirl gives her best self.

He does it with the two comic shoulders Magician Forest and Katia Follesaa pure talent that we would have liked to see more during the evening – the piece on women Over 40 is a writing masterpiece -, but also with Loredana Berte, together with which he tries to rediscover his more rock’n’roll side, with Nina Zilli, with Max Pezzaliwith Alessandro Siani and most importantly with Eros Ramazzotti, the first love with which she managed to build a relationship of affection and respect that, every time Michelle Impossible call, take the singer to run for a refresher. It is therefore no coincidence that the tenderest moment of the evening was precisely the one in which the Ramazzotti family gathered on stage, with Eros who sings a medley of her greatest hits, Aurora Ramazzotti who enters and interviews her father who, in the meantime, caresses her belly, and with Michelle Hunziker who is moved to the point of giving the audience a real, frank and heartfelt embrace with her daughter and her ex-husband who is, after all, a hope for all couples who have put an end to their relationship and who fear they will never find serenity with their ex again.

The exchange between Eros and Aurora – with the girl asking her father why as a child he tried not to take her on the path of music and with the father who replies that he did it “because of people’s judgment”, “why try to sing would certainly have put you in comparison with your father» – it is freedom in its purest state, freshness and harmony which could very well give life to a separate but capable format, among all the pieces of which Michelle Impossible and Friends it is composed, to shine with its own light by fitting in with other moments to remember. Like Loredana Bertè who remembers the disappearance of Mimì and reveals that she was beaten to death at 16 spending a month in the hospital, but also like Michelle who recalls seeing Ramazzotti sing for the first time Still life on MTV telling her mother that the boy would marry him while the latter replied «sure, and I’m marrying Rod Stewart». Among the hilarious gimmick of the roast show which saw Max Pezzali let himself be targeted by the poisonous jokes of Forest and Andrea Pucci to the duet of Hunziker and Bertè on the notes of dedicated, it now seems very clear that of Michelle Impossible and Friends we won’t be able to do without it anymore. Bring it back to us all year round, help to remind us that generalist television, when it wants, still knows how to entertain and excite by keeping away from scandals, gossip and the prevailing trash.
