Mercadona has withdrawn from its establishments “as a precautionary principle” a batch of sweet Vera paprika and offers customers who have it in their homes the possibility of returning it after the company is informed by the health authorities of Aragon that said batch could contain salmonella. The recalled product is the Paprika from La Vera Sweet Hacendado with Lot L150719 Y best before date 10/2021.
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) was informed by the authorities of Aragon, through the Coordinated Rapid Information Exchange System (SCIRI), of the presence of Salmonella spp in this sweet Vera paprika, after obtaining the results of an analysis of the product in which the presence of this bacterium was detected.

The information has been transferred by AESAN to all the autonomous communities to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the establishments. “With the information available, no case associated with this alert has been confirmed in Spain,” points out the AESAN.
