Revelations regarding her marriage with Prince Harry were made by Meghan Marklein the new ‘Harry & Meghan’ documentary, currently airing on a streaming TV platform. As she pointed out, the palace forbade her to invite her niece Ashley Hale, because of the bad relations she had with her half-sister Samantha Markle.
As she said the Duchess of Sussex had developed a close relationship with her niece Ashley, Samantha’s daughter. However found herself in an awkward position when her wedding guest list was drawn up in 2018.
“How would we explain that my half-sister isn’t invited to the wedding, but her daughter would be?” Megan said according to the Athens News Agency.
“For Ashley, the guidance, at the time, was not to come to our wedding,” the Duchess of Sussex continued. “I was in the car with Harry. I had her on the phone and we talked to her about what instruction we were given and why that assessment was done … and that was painful,” he added.
“I think I was hurt on some level, but I understood where she was coming from,” Ashley said in the documentary. “Knowing that because of my biological mother affected the relationship (with Meghan) that is so important to me … to feel that, because of her, I was removed (from the guest list), it was difficult.”
