Meet Jeon Hye-jin, widow of actor Lee Sun-kyun, from the film “Parasite”

Known for his role in the film “Parasite”, South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, 48, died while being investigated for illegal drug use, according to confirmation from the Suel police this Wednesday (27) .

Lee was married to 47-year-old South Korean actress Jeon Hye-jin. The two had been together since 2002. In 2009, they decided to make their union official.

The couple's first child was born in November of the same year. Meanwhile, the second baby came into the world in 2011.

About to turn 48 on January 1st, the actress entered the world of acting after appearing as one of the contestants in the Miss Korea contest in 1997.

Jeon, who was also a directing student at Sangmyung University in Suel, always said she had no intention of being an artist.

However, the story changed when he met the director of the Chaimu theater company, Yi Sang-woo. After introducing her to the world of cinema, Jeon soon took on some roles in films such as “A Killing Story”, in 1998.

The actress also dedicated herself to the South Korean theater company and adopted the stage name Jeon Yi-da, appearing in several productions with the group, including “The Sogue”, “There”, “Unification Express” and “Shape”.

Jeon's debut in television dramas took place in 2002, starring in “Ruler Of Your Own World”. In 2004, she got the lead role in KBS2's “I'm Sorry, I Love You”, starring Cha Moo-hyok's (So Ji-sub) sister, Yoon Seo-gyeong.

And don't think it stopped there! Jeon starred as the protagonist in the 2008 music video for Wonji, during Korean pop star Kim Kwang-jin's 5th album.

In 2015, she participated in the historical drama “The Throne”, a South Korean production and, for her performance, she took home the Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Among the awards for which Jeon was nominated, there is a highlight for KOFRA Film, produced by the Korean Association of Film Critics.

Recently, Jeon played Bang Joo-kyung in the 2022 film “Hunt”, and took on the role of Kim Eun-mi in the TV show, “Not Others”.

For 2024, she is set to play Hee Joo in “Mission: Cross” and will make an appearance in the Korean drama series “I Am Home”.
