A security guard at the Guanabara supermarket, in Andaraí, in the North Zone of Rio, was killed, this Thursday (18), by a man who allegedly stole chocolates from the unit.
The security guard would have noticed the theft and reacted when he was stabbed. He was taken to the Andaraí Federal Hospital, but did not survive.
According to the Military Police, agents from the 6th Battalion (Tijuca), with support from the 6th Pacification Police Unit of Morro dos Macacos, were called to an incident on Rua Indaiaçu.
Arriving at the scene, police managed to arrest the suspect in the attack. Jorge Luís Gomes da Silva, aged 29, has 11 criminal records. He had two knives with him, which were seized.
The Civil Police reported that the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) is investigating the case. The killer was taken to the unit and charged with qualified homicide and robbery. Specialist agents were at the market this afternoon to carry out the investigation and gather information.
Guanabara reported that the security guard was stabbed when he approached the criminal. Initially, the man fled. But he later returned and stabbed the employee with a knife.
