US Secretary of State Marko Rubio said today, Sunday, that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine should be achieved soon, as Washington is trying to see if it is worth continuing as a mediator. “We cannot continue to devote time and resources to this endeavor if it is not going to perform,” Mr Rubio told the NBC’s Meet The Press show. “Last week was mainly about realizing how close the two sides are really close, and if they are close enough to justify the continuation of our involvement as mediators.” “This week is really critical, as we have to decide whether this is an effort in which we want to continue to participate,” Rubio said.
