The actress Maria Casadevall 36, weighed in on her relationship with fellow actor Caio Castro , 35 — which ended in 2015, after two years together. In 2020, the artist came out as a lesbian and is currently dating the musician Larissa Mares .
In an interview with the magazine Marie Clairethe actress confessed that she had always felt attracted to women, but saw that attraction to men was “a rule to be affirmed”.
“I never suppressed [o desejo]but I kept it separate from any recognition, as I didn’t even consider that there was space or possibility for homosexuality to assume a central place in my life, both personal and public, and that has a name: compulsory heteronormativity,” said Maria.
Despite dating Caio Castro and some other men, the artist assured that she always missed something. “I had an emotional life of relationships with cisgender men (I started dating at 16), but as I didn’t know how to identify this pressure, I naturally faced the discomfort that came as a consequence of my choices.”
“I didn’t know how to name it, but I knew something was a little out of tune, out of place,” said the actress.
