In an interview with CNN the owner of the hit “Ex -ex” anticipated that “here comes a different tide than I had been releasing in recent times. I will come with both feet in the country – I already dated a lot with style, recorded several features and sang country music in the show because I like it a lot – but this year I will dedicate a lot to record several projects.”
Mari said she intends to continue making music about female empowerment – including topics such as overcoming relationships and self -love.
According to her, the production of the new music genre has begun. “There will be a lot of country tracks, with the melody, the lyrics and the introductions within the style. I think my fans will like it a lot, right? But I’ll still sing a little of the suffering and overcoming too.”
The singer began her career in composition at age 15 in her hometown, in the interior of Ceará. After finishing his studies, at age 18, he moved to the state capital, Fortaleza, to try to achieve success with his lyrics.
In a short time in the city, she managed to reach consecrated artists in Forró and Piseiro – such as Tarcisio do Acordeon and Vitor Fernandes. In 2024, Mari Fernandez occupied the first position of the ranking among the most listened forró artists on YouTube, surpassing big names of the genre.
Today, it has about 80 compositions recorded in the ECAD (Central Office of Collection and Distribution) – including hits such as “Crazy Stop” and “Ex Page”.
“I like to compose music, regardless of the music genre. The idea that comes, I go there and do. Sometimes it is with an idea of pagoda, sometimes forró… but lately my focus has been composing for the country,” he said.
In an interview prior to CNN Mari said he is being well received by artists who are already established in the country universe and that his friends are facilitating the transition between musical genres.
The singer’s flirtations with the countryman already came from partnerships with important country names such as Murilo Huff, Guilherme & Santiago, César Menotti & Fabiano, Gustavo Mioto, Israel & Rodolffo, Hugo & Guilherme and Lauana Prado.
