A man suspected of operating an illegal weapon sales scheme by a messaging app, such as WhatsApp, was arrested on Wednesday morning in the west of São Paulo. The action was conducted by police from the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic).
During the fulfillment of a search and seizure warrant, agents of the 1st Discopat Police Station (investigations on theft and murder) found three pistols, 13 porters and 59 ammunition. The material was hidden in a property on Rua Morada da Paraíba, in the British Garden.
The suspect was identified as 31 -year -old Alexandre Rodrigues Pereira da Silva and was arrested at the scene. According to investigations, he operated as an operator of a weapon marketing scheme in messaging groups, with dozens of members. In one of the monitored conversations, he even offered a rifle to possible buyers.
According to Deic, Alexandre already has antecedents for theft and criminal association. He was charged for illegal possession of a restricted weapon of use and sent to the headquarters of the 1st Division of Investigations on Crimes Against the Heritage, where he remains arrested and available to the courts.
The Civil Police continues to investigate the case to identify others involved and the origin of the seized weapons.
