The Civil Police said the agents were investigating an anonymous report on drug trafficking through a postal service in the municipality since the beginning of this month. After the warning, the team tracked an order sent by the suspect and located the material at the Post Office in the city of Bauru, also located in the interior of São Paulo.

A scanning device detected a “abnormality” in the commodity package, which was separated to be inspected by the police. Subsequently, the agents located the portions of the drugs within two dulce de leche plastic buckets. The narcotics were seized and underwent expertise.

The man will be responsible for the crime of drug trafficking and had the temporary arrest decreed by the court. Investigations go to check out other possible ones involved in the scheme.

In a statement, the Post stated that they maintain acting in combating the sending of illicit objects through the postal service.

“The company has advanced monitoring systems, such as X-ray inspection, allowing to identify suspicious orders and trigger competent authorities to adopt appropriate measures. Many repression operations, as performed in Presidente Prudente (SP), begin after the state’s calculation,” said the company.
