Man is arrested by the PF after receiving false notes by the post office

A 23-year-old man, who did not have his identity disclosed, was arrested in the act on Thursday (24) in Montes Claros, northern Minas Gerais, after receiving false notes by the Post Office.

According to Federal Police officers, the arrest in the act occurred when the young man received a package by the post office containing five fake banknotes of $ 100.

At the time of delivery, the agents approach a young man, opened the package and confirmed that these were notes with indications of forgery.

The young man was arrested in the act and was then sent to the Montes Claros Regional Prison. The suspect’s cell phone was also seized and, along with the banknotes, will be subjected to expertise, with the objective of identifying possible connections with criminal organizations.

According to the Federal Police, the action was the result of a joint work with the Corporate Security Coordination of the Post. Suspected orders monitoring remains intensified in the region.

The forgery of currency is a crime against the public faith, with a penalty of 3 to 12 years of imprisonment, as well as a fine, for those who manufacture, purchase, exchange, guard or place fake notes.
