Man claims to be Zeca Pagodinho’s son; singer is willing to take a DNA test

A man claims to be the son of singer Zeca Pagodinho, who said he is willing to take a DNA test if determined by the Judiciary.

In a note sent by Zeca Pagodinho’s press office to CNN lawyer Caio Mariano stated that, “once contacted by the applicant’s representative, the artist always made himself available to carry out the DNA test”.

However, the man allegedly refused to take the exam in a private location suggested by the artist, “although he is a public person, he needs to have his privacy preserved”, adds the note. Because of this, the DNA test was not carried out.

According to the note, Zeca Pagodinho and his defense learned through the press “that the applicant has appealed or will resort to legal proceedings to carry out the procedure” and have not received any official notification yet.

“If the Judiciary determines that [o exame]the artist will do so as a law-abiding citizen that he is”, says the press release.

Zeca Pagodinho is 64 years old and has been married since 1986 to Mônica Silva, with whom he has four children: Louiz Carlos, Eduardo, Elisa and Maria Eduarda. He is also Noah and Catarina’s grandfather.

In 2015, the singer lost his eldest son, Elias Gabriel, the result of a relationship prior to his marriage with Mônica.
