The Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) arrested a 29-year-old man suspected of setting fire to a house where three children and a dog were. The victims managed to leave the residence with the help of neighbors and no one was injured. The case happened on Wednesday night (6), in the Federal District.
According to police, the suspect had locked the children, aged 11, 7 and 3, as well as the dog, inside the property and set fire to a mattress. The crime took place in Ceilândia, a city located about 33 km from the center of Brasília.
The police were called by witnesses who witnessed the scene and restrained the man, who tried to flee the scene. The military then immobilized the man and provided aid to the victims.
The suspect informed the police that he intended to harm his cousin and her children. He was taken to the police station where he was charged with attempted murder, arson and animal abuse.
