The son of former boxer Maguila, Adenilson Rodrigues, who appeared in a video beating a street vendor last Wednesday (6), has already been accused of attacking an elderly couple in 2002.
THE CNN confirmed with delegate Hélio Bressan, then responsible for the case, who says he remembers the incident, but not the details.
“I don’t remember the details, it’s more than 20 years ago, but I remember the incident, if I’m not mistaken, Maguila’s wife was at the police station. I believe he was never detained”, said the police chief, who worked at the 24th DP (Ermelino Matarazzo), where the complaint was filed.
The attack was published at the time by the newspaper Agora (owned by Folha de S.Paulo). According to the report, elderly Valentim Feliciano de Castro and his wife Maria Antônia de Castro, both in their 80s, were the victims.
The confusion took place in the Ermelino Matarazzo neighborhood, east of São Paulo. The elderly say that, due to an argument, Rodrigues attacked Valentim by punching him in the stomach and hurting Maria’s arm.

The street vendor, identified as Osvaldo, 41, was attacked. In the images, Osvaldo appears dominated by Adenilson who violently beats him. It is possible to see the man’s face deformed after the sequence of attacks.

The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) confirmed the incident, registered in the 2nd Police District, in Bom Retiro, the center of the capital of São Paulo. According to the SSP, the victim was taken to the Santana Emergency Room, where he received medical care.
