Singer Madonna had to suspend her world tour in celebration of her 40-year career due to a “serious bacterial infection” that left her “several days” hospitalized in the ICU.
The news was announced by Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, in a statement released on social media.
“On Saturday, June 24th, Madonna developed a severe bacterial infection which led to a several day ICU stay,” wrote Oseary.
“Her health is improving, but she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”
“At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, which includes touring. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for the rescheduled shows,” he concluded.
