A carousel of photos on Instagram of Ryan Reynolds with images from the world premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” caused Madonna leave a comment on the post asking: “I’m in 4th?!”
In the post, Reynolds posted several photos with his wife Blake Lively, co-star Hugh Jackman and other celebrities. However, the photo in which he poses next to the queen of pop only appears in the fourth image of the carousel, prompting the singer’s ironic comment.
Madonna — and her song “Like a Prayer” — played a major role in the Marvel film.
In an interview with the SiriusXM program, Reynolds and Jackman said that the singer gave some advice for executing the scene in which her hit is played — and the actors even re-recorded it to meet these suggestions.
The actors had to personally ask Madonna for permission, along with the film’s director, Shawn Levy, to license the song for the scene in the film.
“This involved a personal visit to Madonna, where we showed her the sequence in which ‘Like a Prayer’ would be used,” Levy explained.
“It was a big thing to ask and certainly an even bigger thing to use [a música]”, Reynolds added.
In addition to giving permission to license “Like a Prayer,” Madonna reportedly offered them suggestions on the scene in which the song would be used. “She watched it, and I’m not kidding, [ela disse]’You need to do this.’ And, damn, she was right,” Reynolds reported.
“We literally started a new recording session within 48 hours to make that suggestion. It made the sequence better,” Levy added.
