France President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday after a “very positive” conversation with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, that Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. The leaders met in Rome as a result of Pope Francis’ funeral.
In the conversation, he also mentioned the so -called “coalition of the willingness”, led by France and the United Kingdom, saying that he would continue to work to achieve this goal, as well as a lasting peace in Ukraine.
“End the war in Ukraine. This is a goal we share with the president of the United States (Donald) Trump,” Macron wrote in a post on social network X.
“Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. President Zelensky told me that again today. He would like to work with Americans and Europeans to put him into practice,” he added.
