Ms. Syregela stressed that the institutionalization of ticket discounts for members of families with three children in their transportation by public transport is one of the measures being studied and is already in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, to consider the possibility of implementation. as he believes that it will contribute positively to the relief of these families from the increased burdens they face. The Undersecretary added that the Government proves in practice the support of the Greek family and even more of the large families, through the promotion of gender equality, the harmonization of family and professional life, the strengthening of the protection of the job for the young parents.

Law 4808/2021 extended the protection of parents, especially those with increased family responsibilities, and fully guaranteed their employment for as long as their children were raised, while the four-month parental leave for each parent, of which two (2 first months are subsidized by OAED, with an allowance equal to the minimum statutory salary and the ratio of holiday gifts and leave allowance, but also the possibility to request flexible working arrangements, such as telework, flexible working hours or part-time, while protecting When they return to work, these are important provisions for supporting the family. Another measure that makes it especially easy for parents with many children is the “Neighborhood Nanny” Program that facilitates mothers to join or stay in the labor market and on the other hand other women to work, if they wish, as caretakers, in their home.
