Lula will resume travel schedule after postponements due to pandemic

Former President Lula (PT) will resume his travel agenda for talks about the 2022 elections, a move he had canceled due to the growth in the number of Covid-19 cases amid the Ômicron variant. The information is from Daniela Lima, anchor of CNN.

Next week, PT will go to Rio de Janeiro for a dialogue with Marcelo Freixo, PSB’s pre-candidate for the state government.

Then, after Carnival, Lula will go to Mexico to talk to the president of the country, which was also in the plans, but had to be postponed.

After the international trip, the former president should go to Brasília, where, probably, he should talk to leaders of various parties, such as the MDB, PSB and the Workers’ Party itself, for example.

Minas Gerais must be Lula’s next destination, and it is an unknown for the PT, which has not yet defined a candidate or support for the state government there in these elections.

The state is the second largest electoral college in the country, after São Paulo, being important in the electoral race for the presidency and a place that should receive the attention of the former president.

Minas was also considered as the stage for the PT’s anniversary event, but that, also due to the pandemic, the event was held remotely and in São Paulo.

THE CNN will hold the first presidential debate of 2022. The clash between the candidates will be broadcast live on August 6, on TV and on our digital platforms.
