President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) participated this Thursday (26) in a videoconference with the Forum for Families of Hostages and Missing Persons in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
According to Palácio do Planalto, “the president has spoken to various parties to the conflict with humanitarian concerns, in defense of a ceasefire and release of hostages”.
The videoconference was the reason, according to Planalto, for the cancellation of the president’s next agenda, which would have been a coffee with journalists.
According to information from the Presidency’s Communication Secretariat, Lula would like “more time” to talk to his family.
In addition to President Lula, the meeting was attended by the special advisor to the presidency, Clara Ant, the leader of the government in the Federal Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT), and the head of the international advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Celso Amorim.
On Monday (23), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Brazilian Michel Nisembaun, aged 59, was missing in the region.
