Lula confirms presence at G7 summit in Japan

The Brazilian government confirmed that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) will participate in the external engagement segment of the G7 summit, which will take place on May 20 and 21, in Hiroshima, Japan.

This will be the first time since 2009 that Brazil will attend the meeting of the group that brings together the most industrialized countries in the world. Between 2003 and 2009, Brazil participated in seven G7 summits.

The PT member was invited by the Japanese prime minister, Fumio Kishida, in April this year, as reported by Priscila Yazbek, from the CNN .

Among the topics to be discussed in the external engagement segment are international peace and security, health, development, gender issues, climate, energy and the environment.

According to the government of Japan, Australia, Comoros, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, Republic of Korea and Vietnam were also invited.

Representatives of the United Nations (UN), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the International Energy Agency, the World Health Organization (WHO), the World of Commerce and the European Union.

Coronation of King Charles III

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) landed this Friday (5) in London, England, where he will attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.

He also met with the British Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak. At the meeting, the European country’s contribution to the Amazon Fund was confirmed.

Through social media, Sunak said that the country should contribute 80 million pounds (about half a billion reais) to the Fund.
