Lula breaks down in tears over famine in Brazil – ‘I didn’t expect him to come back’

THE Lula da Silva during a speech about hunger at Brazil burst into sobs and with tears in his eyes, he noted that he did not think that this phenomenon would return to the country again.

If by the time I finish my term, every Brazilian eats breakfast, lunch and dinner, I will have fulfilled my life’s mission once again“, he characteristically said.

It is noted that according to the US Food and Agriculture Organization, 61.3 million Brazilians suffer from moderate or severe food insecuritywhich corresponds to 28.9% of the total population.

Lula justified his tears by saying that he “never believed that hunger would return to Brazil.”

“When I left the presidency, I thought that in 10 years Brazil would be on the same level as France or England, that it would have evolved in terms of social achievements.”
