THE MTV officially announced the return of the iconic program Luau MTV, which marked a generation during the 2000s .
In partnership with the Paramount and with the Corona beer brand, the program, known for mixing music , landscapes paradisiacal and a vibe relaxed returns after a few decades and promises to delight both nostalgic fans and a new audience.
The new version is scheduled for Thursday, December 12th, at 8:30 pm on Pluto TV (on demand), on MTV and on MTV Brasil’s YouTube and will bring Bella Campos, Pedro Scooby and Sarah Oliveira like the hosts.
With diverse profiles, the trio will revive the spirit of the original program, but with a modern touch that reflects the changes of recent years.
Classic revisited
Anyone over 20 knows that the MTV Luau It was a milestone for the generation of the 2000s, providing outstanding performances by artists in different musical scenes.
The first edition, shown in 1997, featured the presentation of several personalities, such as Carla Lamarca , Cuca Lazzarotto , Fernanda File and her own Sarah .
This time, recorded directly in Preá, Ceará, the new version as Corona Luau MTV brings the partnership between the singer Marcelo Falcao and the rapper L7NNON singing together the biggest hits of their careers and presenting an unprecedented feat on the Brazilian music scene.
From a new perspective, the program returns to relive an old experience, but with a renewed proposal that seeks to dialogue with today’s audience. In addition to live shows, the new version should include exclusive interviews, interactions with fans and moments that further explore the connection between music and nature.
In an interview with CNN Sarah highlights that talking about music has always been something natural for her and that, therefore, she sees no difficulties in returning to this role.
“When music is good, regardless of the age of the listener or the generation in which it is found, what enchants me most is the meeting of generations. And that’s what this luau proposes. I’m very excited,” she says.
Nostalgia and new encounters
Big names in Brazilian music, such as Rita Lee , Charlie Brown Jr , Cassia Eller and Nando Reis have already gone through the old recordings of the program.
The musical special, which celebrated the arrival of summer, will revisit the past and contribute to the new generation. “Being part of this Luau return is extremely important to me; It’s an achievement that I didn’t even imagine was possible. I consider it an absurd power that people [facilmente] they will identify themselves,” he comments. L7 the CNN .
Thinking about the new generations, Falcão made a point of encouraging new artists to pursue their goals, reminding them of the importance of their origins and of giving back to the community
“When I look at my life, I see that ‘daddy in heaven’ was very generous to me, not only in Rappa, but now in my solo career. I always put myself in someone else’s shoes to better understand their needs. I hope that the new generation, while being financially blessed, can always look at the community they came from, in the same way as MC Cabelinho, MC Maneirinho and L7 they do,” he says.
Screening of the first episode in Rio de Janeiro
To mark the resumption of production, Rio de Janeiro hosted a special event on Wednesday, the 11th, with the artists and the screening of the first episode.
In a conversation circle, all cast members, with the exception of Bella Campos shared with the public exclusive details about the behind-the-scenes of the recordings and what they can expect from the new attraction.
“Our Brazil is very diverse and very beautiful. People need to bet more and more on it. MTV is doing it [relançamento do programa] for the world, for us”, points out Falcão.
